The Pearl River Quarterly

It has been a long time coming, but we completed our inaugural issue February 22, 2020. It is now available on line through our shop and we are beginning work on our Spring 2021 issue. It was a real challenge during these uncertain times to stay focused on a goal. Losing funding, losing resources, losing time and staying hopeful has been beyond difficult to surmount but, in the end, we chose to do what we could and leave the rest. As with all projects near to the heart, there are things we would change if we knew more! The challenge of diving into something sharpened our focus and skills and we think it turned out great. Here’s to 2021 being a better year in the health and consciousness of our collective world. We offer the Winter 2020 inaugural issue of The Pearl River Quarterly up as a small part of helping our little corner of the world shine a little brighter.

February 5, 2019 Year of the Pig!

Just in time for the Chinese Lunar New Year, our book “Sending A Pig To Grammy!”. We had so much fun writing this book. It was created during a phone conversation between my son Skylar, my granddaughter Ruby and myself. Jokingly, we tried to think of all the ways she could send me one of her newborn piglets. After I got off the phone I realized it was a funny story. One year later and voila! the book. You can buy it to celebrate the year through the shop!

February 4, 2019 - Website Launched

The technical aspects of creating a website never cease to amaze me but it’s up, it’s running, the on-line store is open :)

New books in the works are coming along nicely, after a few sputters in creating covers. Today I take my first steps as a self-publisher and start promoting our books. Starfeather Publishing is officially launched!

Time to laugh, time to sing, time to dream of very big things!

January 4, 2019 - The Books Have Arrived!

Today my first printed books have arrived. The UPS delivery man and I walked off separate elevators at exactly the same time and he walked to my door, setting three boxes in front of me. I stood there for a moment, remembering all the years I had carried the dream of seeing the stories in print, then hauled them in and unpacked. I can hardly believe it! I will send off copies to the illustrators as well as to my son and granddaughter, both co-authors. I am so excited to start promoting them, wish me luck!
